Sophie Harris is an editor with over ten years’ experience writing for international magazines and broadsheets (The Times, MOJO Magazine, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, Time Out London/New York, Men’s Health), broadcasting and hosting for the BBC World Service and WNYC, and sub-editing (The Guardian, MOJO). In 2009, Sophie moved to New York to be Associate Music editor at Time Out New York, then Senior Associate Digital Content Editor and Contributing Music Editor. Having lived and worked in Los Angeles and Sydney, Sophie is currently based in London where she writes and sub-edits for MOJO, The Guardian and Rolling Stone, among others.
Her interview portfolio runs the gamut from musical icons to movie stars, genetic scientists and renegade artists. Sophie has given lectures on music journalism at City University, London, and Baruch College, NYC, guested on industry panels including SMILE at Southampton Solent University and served as a judge for the Scottish Album of the Year Awards. She has created and edited globally successful online features including Time Out’s Best Love Songs and contributed to books including 1000 Songs You Must Own, The MOJO Collection and 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
Sophie also teaches yoga and sings in her folk music project.
